Frosted Maple Leaf

I really liked this maple leaf that was frosted on the edges. But I didn't care for the nondescript BG, so therefore, decided to play with it in PS. I hit colorful center and walaaa! Thoughts?

Christine,

This is a really nice shot of a prime condition frosted leaf! I agree with your thoughts about the BG, and perhaps you could add a bit of a vignette to darken it (particularly the corners) and maybe it would recede even more?

As long as that didn't interfere with the leaf - I really like the way you've developed the lighting on the leaf itself, the brighter center almost seems to glow.

Christine,
This is very lovely and the BG works for me. The DOF frames the subject leaf nicely. If this were my image, I would also post it in this week's 'Weekly Challenge', its a perfect fit.
Good eye, great capture and perfect post processing . . .
