Round Pond & Round Rock

One of my favorite places for fall colors if there is no wind, and on this day I got a few minutes of calm water. Now I can't decide on keeping the composition more "plain" with just the trees and reflections, or including some foreground elements like this dark rock. It's a long shoreline (and I shot it ALL), so I have lots of choices.

What do you think? (I'll try to post a "rockless" version tomorrow.)

THANKS

Beautiful image Wayne. I like the rock in the composition, it adds a bit of interest and picks up on the rock cliffs in the distance, so I would keep it in.

The rock makes it unique and interesting beyond the typical fall color mirror reflection. Well done, Wayne! :toast:

Beautiful Wayne! I'll await the rockless version, but I think the rocks fits nicely in the comp.

Wonderful colors and reflection Wayne and I like the rock anchoring the scene. I only wish we got colors like this out my way. Beautifully done. :toast:

Haven't seen the rockless version, but really like the rock version. Without it, it may be a bit too centered. I agree with Bill Reid; it anchors the scene.

Wayne, the light colors and reflections are fantastic, and the bolder sets everything off beautifully, definitely a beautiful scene. Take care.

Such a beautiful scene, and so peaceful. I like the rock but will look forward to others as well.

The rock certainly works for me, as it makes a wonderful anchor to this lovely autumn scene, Wayne. I can see why this is one of your favorite locations for fall color. Beautifully done. I look forward to the other versions.

Boy oh boy that's one beautiful Fall image. Perfectly placed foreground rock and the color from that Canon camera is as always stunning.

You sure found a lot of color this year Wayne. I think I enjoy this even more than the others. The rock breaking the symmetry is beautiful.
