Dragonfly Lines

For a brief period in the summer, a field near my home in western Oregon was full of dew-covered Dragonflies every morning, and I found it hard to focus on anything else. When I saw this individual i noticed the interesting shape of the grass it was clinging to, and the grass behind it was close enough to add some texture.

The various lines and monochrome presentation gives this a graphic, artistic quality, Thomas, making it unique among DF images. I like it as presented and can't think of any way to improve on the fine presentation.

Thomas, even though the BG behind the dragonfly is mostly white, the white wings contrast nicely. I can't think of any improvements, and will try converting some images of dragonflies and other insects to black and white.

Wonderful image Thomas, the grass perch adds a great graphic/abstract element to the scene and as you noted the background texture adds to the image as well.

Very nice picture. The use of black and white for a macro of dragonfly is unusual and very interesting. Well done.
