The famous Elgol Beach on the Isle of Skye. I only had the one shoot here on my recent quick trip to Scotland and scored a wet and overcast sunset. Decided to wait it out for the blue hour and try for a minimalist seascape using a long exposure to flatten out the water.

Canon 5DMkIII, 16-35mm, 85 seconds, ISO 50, f22

Check out the larger version of course as panoramas suck at 720px!

Hi Kah,

You made the best from the opportunity. The monochromatic colour suits this scene perfectly.

Cheers,

This worked out very nice for you, Kah Kit. Waiting for the blue hour and the long exposure did the trick! You captured a wonderful mood.

I always like your blue hour images and this is no exception. Like the mood and simple composition and the layers in this. Very nice.
