Straight Ahead

For the last nine months or so I've been off on tangents. The few times I have taken photos its been of abstract and b&w. Straight on photos have become less interesting but since its fall its hard to resist the pull of the cypress. This type of image feels like a well worn pair of sneakers that fit oh so comfortably.

it's beautiful. You've chosen such a nice mix of warm colors and cool mist and, of course, there is the structual appeal of the cypress trunk and the mystery of the hanging moss. You do these images so well. thanks for sharing this one

Beautiful! Mysterious ... yet peaceful. If I would be allowed one nitpick, it would be that the downward sloping branch on the right catches the eye somewhat. Perhaps dodging it would minimize this.

David, This is just amazing! The look and mood are simply wonderful. No one captures these scenes like you do! I hope you keep shooting them even if it is just now and then. Beautiful work... :toast:

Sure, your comps in these southern swampy locations is always emotionally connecting. I live in Colorado and this comp connects to me. But Man, I'm jealous of that incredibly dynamic light and your perfect timing. What more can you ask for, a tranquil moment, perfect composition, perfect conditions, and hyper dynamic light to capture all those mid tone relating colors.

That's a great shot David.

Incredible, David. Beyond incredible for that matter. I'm very glad you could not resist 'the pull of the cypress' and that you never stop making images such as this. Pure art in my opinion.
