Early Morning Squirrel

Out at sunrise at the local nature preserve on a crisp fall morning. Not much seen until this fox squirrel ran in front of me and up a tree. Surprisingly, he choose this spot to take time to eat an acorn. Don't think he could have picked a better perch than this in the first rays of the sun. It certainly made his coat darker and redder than normal but I liked it and left that alone. I like the perch he choose as that has some real character. The image is soft due to cropping (took off about 1/3) and the slow shutter speed in the still pretty dim light. But it's my best squirrel image to date. Suggestions and critiques are welcomed and appreciated.

Peter this is nice ..from a less is more perspective. Dont know if you are trying to show some light on the trunk of the tree on the left, which is increasing the light on the squirrel and the yellow lit branch. Just a personal thing, my be bring down the light overall in the frame..?

Beautiful warm light here Peter that not only showcases the squirrel, but also the detail and textures of the tree trunk and branch. Great shot.

Nice one Peter. I do like the light on this guy. If it had been possible I think it would have been nice to have a bit more of the tail showing, specially if you had light shining on the edges of the tail. Thanks for sharing.
