"Update Repost" Digger Wasp Dew Burst

I captured a few shots of Digger Wasp early one morning in Virginia after a night of heavy dew. They were just hanging around coated and heavy with dew waiting for the sun to dry them off. Many may find the out of focus dew in the BG distracting, but I like them for the scene. With the backlighting from the early morning sun, I was able to capture star burst from the dew on the wasp, small they are but overall I liked the feel of them
Canon 5D MKII, 100mm macro @ 100mm, 1/100sec, f/7.1, iso100, tripod used and cropped for composition.
C&C welcome

I do find the OOF drops distracting but you captured a real winner. All the little sunstars really make it pop. The sheen on everything gives the wasp an almost metallic look. Great work David! :toast:

Marvelous shot of a subject, that gives me "the creeps". I hate wasps!!! Might crop at the top to just below the bright bokeh half octagon. The main attraction of all the dewdrops and bokeh is below this very plain green area. :jump:

I reworked the image cloning out the dew drops....

The only oof dew drop that bothered me in the original was the bright, cut-off one in the URC. I found it distracting, but the others I thought added to the dazzle of the mini sun stars. Fine image either way.

I agree with Scott. the top drop was the only distraction for me.. I like the dazzle of the other drops. But, like Scott said...a fine image either way

All the sparkle (both in focus and out) really makes this view special. I agree that only the partial bright spots, top right, should be removed.

I like the last one best, but would like it with the second one's crop at the top.
