I was out early this morning and so was this brute. I was standing in the trail practicing my new technique

when over the rise in the trail ahead this guy appeared. He moved off into some grass and checked me out for a bit, then returned to the trail and headed for me before passing by to my right. Searching for does I'm sure. This photo presented some challenges for me. First was that there was a big old tree not far to the left which I had to crop out which then unbalanced the composition. I decided that this was a better choice so that why it's the way it is. The photo itself was very washed out due to poor light and a light mist. So, I went to work with everything from exposure, color temp, to saturation. When I thought it looked pretty good, I got a confirmation from my wife that it looked fine. So that means it goes on to the team at NPN for your assessment. Critiques and comments appreciated.

Not sure how you got to the final result, but the mood created by the mist and lighting is low key and pleasing. The low contrast and muted colors lends an old fashioned feel to it for me. The almost square format works quite well too, like it could have been done with a 6x6 film camera of olden days. Cool photo Peter. Oh, and thanks for letting me poke fun at your advanced fieldcraft techniques.
