It's been a while since I posted my last image here on NPN. It has been a busy summer and early fall. Been working on my new website, a lot of new images and a trip to Australia. Now I'm trying to participate here again on a regular basis since I this is the place for great landscape and nature photography. So here's my first image in quiet a while. I took it last saturday morning near a local pond that I visited every now and then. I just realized that I haven't been there in fall to make some images with the beautiful fall foliage. I posted this one already on facebook and a swiis photographer mentonied that this looks like Pinocchio's Hand....so I got also the title for this one.

6 single shots manually blended for DOF and dynamic range using different techniques. This is my first images I used Mark Metternich's "Blen if" technique.

What a great title :toast: This shot gives you a lot to look at. Might consider cropping just under the big white cloud at the top.
Almost forgot to mention, that this is a Very Cool Find :toast: Well seen!

Welcome back Bill, I've been missing your great post.
Outstanding eye for this capture and the post processing is very well done.
The title is perfect, well done . . . :toast:

What terrific find! The fall colours give a lot of interest. My only reservation is regarding the clipping of the base of the trunk at the bottom of the frame.

A great title for this. Nice mood, and the blend looks fairly sharp on my monitor.

The "hand" works great as a lead into a lovely fall scene. The blending looks good. Well seen.

What a find; the 'hand' is really neat. I might consider cropping along the bottom to eliminate or at least minimize the size of the dark, sawn end of the log as that dark spot seems to hold the eye, to me anyway. Either way, a great shot. Your blending looks seamless.
