Orange-breasted Sunbird

Here's a shot from last year just outside of Cape Town, South Africa. One of the many beautiful sunbirds in South Africa. Bird was called in.
Ideally I would have liked to have the top of the flower but with my teleconverter on and in horizontal format, I couldn't fit it in.

I agree with what all the others have said, but it does beg the question: why not vertical?

Thanks for your comments.
"Why not vertical" I was set up horizontal and I didn't want to miss the shot, so I took it, when I rotated to vertical the the bird moved to more of a horizontal position and it didn't work as a vertical, then the little guy flew off.

Gorgeous bird, the flower perch is a perfect fit
Yeah, too bad the pesky fixed focal length thing didn't work out..
Still a fine image :toast:

I like the smooth BG and the colorful flower perch. The detail and iridescense in the feathers looks great. Beautiful shot.

Excellent Nate - super IQ and detail. Slight head turn would have been nice, but still excellent
