This is a follow up to "Maple Glory" which I posted in ESS a couple weeks ago. This is more of the traditional looking up comp, and includes a late afternoon sunstar. I had lots of fun shooting these except I got my back dirty and I made myself nauseous looking up! Maple tree forest, Mill Creek MetroParks, Youngstown, Oh., single image taken 11/3/13 with Nikon D600, 14-24 @14, CPL, 1/20 sec, hh, f22, 1/500. Saved at 49, so excuse the compression issues. Suggestions, questions or other comments welcome. :wavey:

A lot more impact with this 'towering' look, and the small 'sunstar' adds a bit of magic that's absent from the other..
I prefer this one, nicely done! :toast:

Hi Scott,

The greens and golds of the leaves, as well as the blue of the sky are the beauty of the image, in my opinion. The sun adds a nice sparkle, but might look even better if it was a tad higher in the frame, I think. Well done. :toast:

I can see how this pov might make you dizzy, especially if there was a little wind. Beautiful colors and the strong verticals of the trunks make this a pleasure to view. Sun-star is lots of fun as well.

Scott: I love these kind of shots but have never carried one off that I like. This is terrific. The POV is enough but the sun star is the icing on a very fine cake. :toast: :toast: :toast: >=))>

Wonderful textures, Scott, the leaves in the upper areas gathered almost like clouds and the trunks so dark and dynamic. Hope you have recovered - it was well worth the effort I should say !!!

The sunburst is a great addition to this view up into the crowns of these lovely trees. You've caught a fine collection of yellow leave and dark trunks sprinkled well with bits of green and red. Looks like a fun "kids view" of fall that I need to do. Well done, Scott.
