Blue-faced Honeyeater & repost

Another Honeyeater (they have lots!). I liked everything about this image but the stick in front, and I just couldn't figure out how to remove it without messing with the bird. I did remove one stick that added a line contrary to all the others.

7D, 300mm f4 + 1.4TC, handheld, f8, 1/400, Av mode with no compensation, iso 640. Processed in CS6 and cropped to 8.3MP. Taken near Mossman, Queensland at 1:02 pm on October 18th.

Your comments and criticisms are most appreciated.

Thanks for looking,

Ignoring the stick, the detail, colors and sharpness are right on. A striking bird. The BG works well. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely bird and BG. A bit of an awkward pose, and that stick is troublesome, but overall a very nice image.
A careful touch with the clone tool should make it fairly easy to remove that errant branch.

Nice setting Dennis. For an attractively coloured bird they often strike almost sinister poses

Neat and very colorful bird Dennis. I like the attentive pose and the clean background. The stick is a bit distracting, but as Sandy mentioned it could be removed with some careful cropping. :toast:

Thanks for the urging to clone out that extra twig. Here's a repost with my attempt at it.

Thanks, :wavey:

Interesting bird well captured with lovely background. The cloned version looks good.

Really cool bird, and a unique looking pose. Nice details. The re-post is much more pleasing to view without that wayward branch, nice cloning work.

Sweet Photo Dennis!

I vastly prefer the version with the cloned stick, which version is well caught, btw. Now if you could just remove the OOF shrubbery in the ULHC...

Neat looking bird. I like the blue eye patch and the pose and the upward turn of the head.Removal of the stick definitely helps.
