Quiet Morning

During an early morning session last week at the local preserve, I found this doe peacefully resting. She was away from all the goings on around the rut and just quietly sitting there. I liked the mood set by the mist/fog and the grayish palette of colors. I removed a few really obnoxious pieces of vegetation but left most of it, feeling that having it more accurately shows the habitat she is in. I also made a few adjustments to exposure, WB, etc. Nothing major. Comments and critiques are welcome and appreciated.

Nice attitude in this one, Peter. I would say, based on examination of the larger version, that she is positioned with her butt closer to the camera than her face. Detail is best on the nearer grasses and the rump, suggesting focus in front of the eyes.
