That last step

This is another shot from the Oregon Coast near Gold Beach, OR. The fog was coming in waves to the shore. We had a moment where we could see what was just in front of us--not much. Stunning cliffs with islands seeming to hover just off the coast.

Thanks for your feedback.

Canon 5D, 17-40L lens at 21mm, f/13 at 1/40sec.

Hi Todd,

It must have been a rich scene with the misty fog. There are some nice natural features in the photo. But, there is no main subject that stands out to me.

Nice scene Todd with nice detail in the large version. I wonder if you could get more detail in the fog areas so you don't have such a large are of white. But very nice as is.

Thanks, Randy, for the comment about the subject. I think finding the focal point is often one of the most difficult parts about creating a good image. A worthy criticism.

Bill, what I was able to pull out of the fog is probably there. But, I couldn't agree with you more that some other detail there would be nice--I will play with it more, but it is pretty much just white fog. To me, it is one of those scenes I just get lost in, gazing at the detail and in effect, "looking over the cliff." Larger is definitely better.

Both comments are very helpful to me--thank you both for taking a minute to share how my photo struck you.

Very grateful,

Todd
