In the fall there are all kinds of seed heads where the seeds are scattered by the wind. Thanks for you comments and critiques.

Excellent Dandelion detail photo with very nice colors, perfect light, very good clarity. Well done Richard.

I like the subject, comp, and bg, Richard. I'd prefer the center to be sharper, but more dof would introduce detail in the bg, so this is a good compromise. This is the type of image stacking was made for.

You've got some terrific detail in what looks likely to be a Western salsify (or goatsbeard) seed head and the background sets it off very well. I like where you've got the focus with the edges nicely sharp and the center reasonably sharp. While stacking would provide more dof without increasing detail in the background, on a subject with this much overlapped structure, it takes a ton of clean up in post processing to remove all of the artifacts introduced by the stacking.

My favorite fall "flower". Lovely rendition. The paleness of the seed head stands out nicely against the colored bg. I could see brightening it a bit but this is very nice as is.

Rick:

A most fascinating subject with complex architectural construct packed into a small seed head. Not any easy subject to capture but you have done well to demonstrate the complexity.
