Another shot from the boat trip on the Daintree river with "Daintree River Wild Watch". This is a small Kingfisher and we followed it to several locations, even saw it bathing for awhile, but tht was in deep shadow and I didn't have enough light to get usable action images. There were several really bright areas in the bg of this one that I cloned over.

5Diii, 300mm f4 + 1.4TC, hand held from boat, f6.3, 1/5000, iso 2500, Av mode with no compensation. Processed in CS6 and cropped to 5.3MP. Taken October 20th at 4:49 pm.

Your comments and criticisms are most appreciated.

Thanks for looking,

I really like the colors on this bird. Everything else looks good as well. I think the perch is a big improvement over the last kingfisher and the sharpness and detail are excellent. Well done.

Very nice image Dennis. That is quite the bill on that bird! Nice pose and background to set it off.

Dennis I also was lucky enough to see these on the Daintree River ,dropped my lens cover into it told to keep out of the water because of Croc's.
You got a smashing picture of this stunning looking bird the pose looks spot on.
