Very nice, lovely BG Scott.
Excellent use of f/5, with this central focus and the petals in/out of focus.
Only thing I can suggest is tiny bit more room at either side..
Beautiful!

Scott - Just lovely - perfect DOF for this perspective. A little more on left and right is all that I can think of.

Sweet color and light. I echo the cramped on the sides comments though. Still....definitely gorgeous.

The center of the flower is rich with the purple, pinks and yellows. And the fade to the BG is soothing to the eye. very nice one

Beautiful flower photo in superb light, nice colors. I like the well chosen tight crop and excellent bokeh. Well done Scott.

So beautiful against the soft bg, Scott ! Splendid capture of the flower centre and delightful colouring, I wondered at first about having a touch more room at the sides but on reflection I do feel this perspective somehow suits the tight comp.

Scott: Got a nice firm -meter spike from this one and then I opened the larger version and the meter blew up! Wonderful BG and DOF management. One of the best dahlia portraits here in quite a while. >=))>

Thanks for looking/commenting. Good suggestion about a bit more room. If you are interested, I just posted the same flower, with a visitor, in macro.

Hi Scott Love everything about it, agree with the others that a bit more canvas would make this even better

Scott, the flower is lovely set against that great wash of background color. I too find the framing a bit tight.
