Spotted these 2 female reindeer at the zoo having a bit of a contest, pushing with their antlers. The reindeer with the red halter had the higher ground and eventually the loser moved away. Will post a second photo tomorrow showing the winners reaction.

I like the action. The blown whites on the side of the lower deer is a bit of a distraction.

interesting action shot. Looks like the one on the right has submitted.
One possible solution to the blown highlights on the right...would be to crop close to his body, then apply a slight vignette to darken/hide the body. Also, I'd like to see a bit more detail in the faces and antlers. They seem a little soft on my screen. :wavey:

Tried to darken blown areas, did not like how they looked. The deer were in fairly dark shadows with a strong light coming out of the west. Took this around 3:15pm.

John, the re-post is MUCH better on the sides...I'd keep the reindeer just as dark as the original post. Your vignette is not strong enough to make them too dark. But, the slight vignette and crop IMO manage to work on the blown highlights.

You know, this may be a bit crazy, but you could use a white vignette and darken the reindeer. Don't crop the top or bottom at all, as this will give you more vignette area.
This might actually work.....it might even work better than the dark, because it may give the "illusion" of snow and cold. Just a thought. I really do like the shot. :wavey:
