Framed Whitetail

Shortly after sunrise, this buck stepped into this space which provided a great frame for the picture. The composition doesn't quite follow the rule of 3rds but I liked the natural frame. Cropped to about 70% of original. Comments appreciated.

1DIV, EF 600, ISO 400, f16, 1/320, -1 1/3, Tripod, cloned out stick to right of deer's face.

Ralph, Great capture! Great job of featuring the nicely lit buck against the dark background. You obviously visualized the shot and waited for the right moment. Nicely done.

Well Ralph, I think in this case composition trumps the Rule of Thirds. Nice that he was so cooperative to stand in that place while you took a few photos. Great spot to highlight the deer. Maybe it's because of the color quality of the light but the greens on the foliage of the trees seems a bit dull. Well done never the less.

Ralph you owe this buck one for stepping into that great natural frame in the trees. Don't worry bout no rule of thirds, we don't need no rules, the composition looks great to me. I really like the subtle color tones in the vegetation, would loose a lot of the appeal if they were garish and bold.

Great shot Ralph, you're some kind of deer whisperer to get this buck to position itself like that!

As others have said, Very nice framing against the dark BG. Love the turned head and light colored deer that really stands out. Nicely done!

Hello Ralph

A Fine Capture.... & well trained subject to cooperate with the background.
The Details of the Front end and head etc. are Excellent, with the natural catchlight !
Too bad the longer dead grasses block the legs but "it is what it is" ... And to have the white tail raised some would have been Pleasing too.

Thanks

Bill
