This is Treasure Falls on the west side of Wolf Creek Pass in southern Colorado. I was hoping the spray from the falls would be frozen around it like it was several years ago when my family first saw it on vacation. I was pleased it was the same. If you ever get the chance to see it, it's definitely worth the hike up to get a close-up look at one of the prettiest waterfalls in Colorado.

C&C welcome, and thanks for looking,

Large version included,

Morris

Always, always, always, TK's wizardry.

Nicely balanced by the trees and falls astride the colors. The falls look a bit magenta to me. Is that okay, or is it just me?

Pot of gold Morris! Love that splash of color. And the falls don't look magenta on my monitor.

This looks nice, Morris. I'm not seeing any magenta, but the blues in the ice and water look a bit strong to me. I like the splash of red that adds some nice warmth.

Nice perspective and pop of warm color. I am with Preston on the strong blue/cyan casts (but then you knew I would say that  ). Good image, Morris.

Nice timing to get the freeze with the color.
Impressive looking falls....
The water could get a tad warmer, but fine as is.

I like the combination of autumn color and the snow. It's also amazing to see those trees growing out of the side of the rock face! Nice capture Morris.

Morris, beautiful composition and warm colors, really like your perspective, kind of wonder where you were standing. Gorgeous scene indeed.

Gorgeous site here, Morris. A dramatic take from this POV. The highlights from the water and snow really bring this to life. Surrounding colors also are a good balance to the mostly white area on the left. Very nice capture.

Thanks for the comments so far, guys. I guess I just don't see blue in water as well as I should. :wavey:

John, I climbed up the steep slope on the left to where I had my feet and 2 tripod feet on the last two rocks that were not covered in ice. I was wanting to go up higher on the slope, but I was afraid I would slip on the ice and end up at the bottom of the falls.

Ice and fall color at the same time?  The splash of color sets this apart.

Wow Morris, That is quite a view and I like it a lot. The splash of red, orange and yellow colors really adds a nice touch here. This is a very cool looking comp, and it works! :toast:

Fantastic POV and that splash of warmth provides a nice contrast to the cool tones of the ice and waterfall, Morris. Gorgeous image IMO.

Very interesting combo of elements. Snow and some intense fall color. Overall the image feels a bit busy, maybe, but there are plenty of nice things to land on and rest. I particularly like the color.

Almost looks like you blended two pictures, taken months apart! Very nice contrast!

Pretty interesting mix of textures and color. I feel like I want to see more to the left of the falls, so it seems a bit unbalanced to me. Maybe there was a reaon for the crop you chose  Otherwise, great find and has a wonderful abstract quality to it.

Thanks, Harry. :wavey: It does feel a tad tight to the falls. I wanted to include the trees on the right to give a sense of scale, but maybe could have swung a little more left and still had them in the frame. I was wanting to be up farther to my left to get more of a look across the falls to the trees, but it was just too icy to get a grip for getting there.

That's really cool, Morris--one of the best ive seen of Treasure. And its a tough waterfall to photo, that's for sure.

Morris, I do like the combination of the warm fall colors and the cool blue ice. To me, though, the fall colors seem too saturated. The vantage you climbed to gives a nice perspective.
