December 4, 2013 Bosque del Apache

Nikon D4 Nikkor 600mm ISO250 1/5000 f/14 White balance daylight
Tripod with Wimberly Gimbal Processed in Lightroom, CS6 and NIK

Minimally cropped If you like it, it is testimony to what I learned in Keith Bauer's workshop. If you don't like it, then is just shows that you cannot expect bountiful crops from fallow ground.

I like it, the image really P  PS with an almost 3D look to it. Great detail, lighting and exposure.

How much exposure increase was required in post processing? I ask because your shooting parameters are at least three stops under Sunny 16 values. That could explain the banding in the sky above the goose, where two arcs show abrupt transitions in the blue. There's also a sharp vertical line in the blue about half way between the leading edge of the wing and the right edge of the frame. Finally, there's a small section of darker blue above the neck where it meets the shoulder that appears to be spill over from burning.

I like the flight position and the detail on the goose but the flaws in post processing detract for me.

Excellent flight shot, Patrick. Nice exposure and beautifully crisp. I do see some of the artifacts that Richard mentions, though I really have to look for them It would be very easy to even out the bg.
