One of the rock outcroppings at Mather Point seems to project above the sea of fog that fills the Grand Canyon.

This is way too cool! An island in the sky!   The placement of every element looks as if it were hand placed.

What a perspective; it looks straight out of a Star Wars movie. The cloud textures are beautiful.

This is very intriguing and dynamic. The clouds look like they moving. I really like this a lot, Doug.

Doug, that is one heck of an image! Top tier portfolio material IMO. To my eye, the framing of the outcropping feels very slightly unbalanced toward the LLC; just my perception. Congrats on a very special image! :jump:

super image, everything working here. just because i'm curious, i wonder what it would have looked like had you had a ND filter and allowed the clouds to blur considerably.

This is amazing. Fantastic capture. It must have felt pretty good in the field that morning, knowing you'd captured something like this.

Wow Doug! This is absolutely incredible. The details in the larger version are outstanding. It seems like the rock is floating above the fog. Very well done!
