Very nice, Morris. The color and contrast are very pleasing. I do wish there was little more immediate foreground. The soft storm light is very appealing.

Beautiful color combination, and I also like the softness of the trees against the ruggedness of the peaks.

What a special contrast between the brilliantly colored trees in the foreground and that awesome ridge and sky of stormy, snowy peaks. I'm having mixed feelings about the bit of snowy ground at the bottom. I think it's probably good to have an anchor for the trees, but at the same time it distracts me from the colored leaves, so I keep playing with cropping it off....guess I'll just have to keep looking...maybe Preston's idea about more foreground...

Beautiful, Morris. The color really jumps with the muted tones of the background and the white (yes white) snow. I like this a lot.

Lovely scene, Morris. I like the contrast between the vibrant color and the monochromatic look created by the stormy conditions. I also like how the peaks seem to be climbing progressively higher from foreground to background as if trying to reach through the clouds. Well seen and composed!!

morris, love the colours here too (even without mind-altering pharmaceuticals). actually, what i see here is a portrait of a family of four taken with a super backdrop with grandpa standing on the right with his hand on his walking stick. What really grabs me, though, is the desire to shove the family aside as I'm irresistibly drawn to the monochrome hills beyond with their utterly gorgeous flecks of gold and orange.

As huge a fan as I am of color, and I do love the foreground, those are some outstanding peaks in the background. As Stuart notes, the flecks back there add a nice salsa to the drama.

Great title, Morris. Sometimes I get caught up in the process and have to stop to appreciate the experience.
BTW,,,,the light on the distant peak makes this image for me. It gives it a sense size and distance in contrast to the flat fg light. Man I have got to see fall aspens one day.

Thanks for the comments so far everyone.
Stuart, there's a cruel streak in you that we are just beginning to see. Just push grandpa out of the way? It must come from living in a country where a thousand different creatures can kill you at any second. Actually, I get your message loud and clear. You would rather the trees not block the view.
David, you really must some day, and I hope you will let me guide you around the state to see some of the very best places.

Wow Morris! This is absolutely incredible. I really like how the colorful trees contrast with the almost monotone sky and mountains. One of the best images I've seen in a long time! Definitely needs to be hanging on someone's wall!
