NPWC#614 How about me?
by Sandy Scott
This is Kitty (racing name KittyHawk), my rescued greyhound who had a very successful, very long 4 1/2 year racing career on three different tracks. In that her racing weight was only 58 pounds, she learned quickly that if she went to those fast turns at 25 mph with much larger males she would be bumped out of contention. I have her full racing records and they indicate that her MO was to immediately go off the front of the pack and lead the race wire to wire. She has been with us for a few years and she wants to be involved in everything that the family or any member thereof is involved in. In this shot, I was in my back yard taking some photos when I happened to look up, and Kitty was longingly peering through the kitchen window as if to say, "Why can't I also be out there with you."
The leaf is probably a bit distracting, but I decided to leave the picture as it was taken in that there is no missing her expression or what she is thinking.
Shot with a Canon T3i and ancient Canon telephoto lens at 100mm, f5.6, 1/125 ISO 2000.
