A neighbor called me to say a bear had broken into her apple shed.
I chose a higher angle to show the snow on his/her back.

Hi Sandy. Good use of a slow shutter speed to emphasize the blowing snow. The apples really add to the image like they were strategically placed around the bear. Did you do that?
I'm not sure if the bird adds or distracts from the image. Bill

Hi Sandy,

To me, the streaks of snow in front of the bear are what makes the image special. The entire image looks nice. I wonder if cropping out a bit of the left side would balance the image a bit more.

Very nice. Love the snow and the apples. I agree about the crow. Not sure it adds much. Great shot.

Nice image! I like the bear having his head up instead of down at an apple. So, is the bear stealing from the bird, or the bird stealing from the bear? Or are they both stealing from your friend? Thanks for sharing.

Very different take on a black bear, the snow and the red apples are neat. I like the bird too but wish he wasn't partially hidden. Only suggestion for change would be to have the bear a bit higher in the frame and more room at the bottom to ground the subject. Snow and bears in SanFrancisco?

Sandy--the snow and the crow plus apples strewn about tells the story. The crow looks like an accomplice in the crime of apple thievery..................Jim

That is one big bear, he certainly seems to know where to find the good snacks.

Sweet Photo Sandy!
