Red-crested Pochard

Well, wonder where the name comes from.....
Taken this morning in a forest close to my home. Even after considerable underexposure while shooting, I darkened the image some more in postprocessing..

Sweet low angle and I like the angle of the Pochard toward the viewer. Lovely light on the crest.

I like the dark look here. The textures look soft, and perhaps that was on purpose... it enhances the image, IMO.

Thanks all for your encouraging comments ! I took the shot almost at water level, while lying on the bank. Lens was approx. 10cm (sorry for the metrics) above water level, me balancing to prevent from dipping in
