Autumn Watchtower

My photo fantasy land would be one where it was Autumn all year long. Sure I like Spring, and I like Summer, and sometimes I even like winter (although not as much the older I get), but man does fall ever get my juices flowing. A sensory overload time here in Colorado. I was also stoked to have a different looking one this year with the subdued colors and frequent snow. This one is another from the Silver Jack Lake area.

C&C always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

Cool! Nice combo of colors here, good balance. A little more light on the fg aspen might have put it over the to--but i aint complaining, its terrific as is.
Oh--im headed toward a certan spot up on the Palmer Divide later today....Orion comes up with the full moon, might be interesting... :wavey:

I know what you're talking about when it comes to autumn - definitely my favorite season of the year! This is really nice Morris - great color and detail throughout.

Thanks, Bill.

Thanks, Stan, I would love to join you, but our daughter just flew into town for the holidays. Good shooting! Maybe after the holidays?

Morris, I appreciate your "fall" comments, I agree. Although a strange year for fall color here in Colorado, I'm thinking this is the year for "Rust" color to begin to appeal to the masses. You and I know rust shows up after snow, but shooting that color, mixed with reds, yellows and whats left of greens really makes for a pleasing color palette in my book. Especially when you add in some nice flat light and overcast skies..gotta have that textured sky right? Oh wait, you have all of these above mentioned elements in this submitted image....great shot!

This is nice Morris. I love the contrast of colors and the white snow....and the weather makes it look dramatic. I love fall here in switzerland, too - but it's not half as beautiful as it must be in the Rockies.

This works for me, Morris. I like the warm Autumn color against the stormy sky. Nicely done!

Hi Morris, I'm enjoying this very much. I really like these colors and think you came up with a great comp showing them off. I also like the conditions you captured this in. :toast: Nick

The colors are awesome and make for such a strong contrast with the snow covered evergreens and stormy sky. Well seen, Morris.

Sweet! This might be my favorite of this recent series. The darker row of trees in the middle ground add a stark line of separation that gives it great depth.
