I was practicing last evening trying to get flight photos of the birds in my backyard. I was pretty happy with this one since the light was really fading.

Canon 7D
Canon 70-200 IS 2.8
Canon Speedlite 580 EX II set to 1/16
F8 1/250 ISO 160

processed in Lightroom 4 approx 25% crop

Nice flash work, LeRoy, and that's a neat flight pose. The detail looks pretty good at this scale, though if you post the optional 1200 pixel image it helps with evaluating such things.

I like the wing position and comp, but hard to critique much else without having the large version attached.
