The photo was taken in Cuba in December 2013. These two seem to be permanent residents at the Sol hotel in Santa Maria Cuba. They were accessible in the front gardens of the hotel entrance, throughout the week. I seemed to be the only person who was interested in the bird and was taking lots of photos. Photo was edited in Photoshop, no crop.

Excellent job, John, and a really neat bird. My only nit is the clipped tail and toe. How horrible to get too close to one's subject! You really brought out the subtle colors in the plumage.

Superb exposure and colour. Maybe a teeny bit big in frame but would do for me - no problem.

Very nice shot. Only nit is would like the bird placement a tad to the right. Looks a bit too off-center. Fine colors.
