Peaceful at Christmas

Out early this morning and came upon this buck who just seemed to be sitting quietly and perhaps enjoying a bit of sunshine to warm himself up after a cool night. I thought it made for an interesting image with the light FG and dark BG and the head sticking up. Had to really crank down on the highlights and the whites. Then just adjustments to the other sliders to get things looking more normal. I hope you have a most joyous of holidays this year and the new year brings you the image you've been trying to get for years. I know you've got one as I think we all do.

Tech Info

Canon EOS 60D with EF 70-200mm f/4L at 172mm

Wish you a happy holiday as well Peter. He looks peaceful at the edge of the forest, although we know prey species can never take a day off from the dangers of predators.
