David Rowe

I started photographing birds in 2010, confining my birding activities to Western Switzerland and South Devon in the UK. The first bird photo, although taken in the canton of Geneva, caught a Ring-necked Duck, visitor from North America! My particular field of interest is capturing in-flight images. My photos are hand held shots and I simply don’t have patience to spend time in hides. All photos are taken in the wild; none are taken in bird parks, zoos or bird sanctuaries. I prefer within reason to ‘keep on the move,’ bearing in mind that nothing beats being in the right place at the right time. I am very impressed by the standards shown on NPN; the Avian Photo Gallery and accompanying suggestions are an unfailing source of inspiration.
