Black-capped Chickadee
by Dennis Plank
From late this afternoon (at least in terms of sun time). The feeding station I set up gets late afternoon sun at a glancing angle from my left when I'm in the blind. There's a group of Douglas Firs there, but the bottom limbs have been trimmed high enough to let winter sun sneak through in places. I really liked what the sun did to the colors of this Chickadee.
1Div, 500mm f4 ISL + 1.4TC, Black Widow head mounted to blind windowsill, f9, 1/320, Av mode with - 1 stop compensation, iso 1000. Processed in LR5 & CS6 (still working on the balance I like best, since I'm not familiar with LR5 yet). Cropped to 7.95MP. Taken this afternoon at 3:46 pm (sunset here is theoretically 4:36, but the range of hills to the west chops it off about 4:00).
Your comments and criticisms are greatly appreciated.
