This comp makes me unsure about what I should be looking at. The near 50/50 split has me looking at the horizon for the most part. But there isnt a whole lot to see out there. Seems that your focus might be the lava fields, since the light dapples over them interestingly and creates some cool textures. You also have those backlit greens that have a good amount of interest. I would consider cropping down to just above the billowing smoke to keep the focus of the frame down on the lava field. I would also consider straightening the horizon unless you're looking for a dramatic jolt for your viewer - it's a little disorienting as it is.

Navin - Thank you for your comment! I guess I hoped the sun's reflection on the lava would lead the eye up to the volcano, which I thought was fairly dramatic, at least conceptually if not visually. For the tilt, this is the terrain as I found it; I felt straightening was not an option. BTW, I enjoy your Great Falls photos. I live in the area.

Thanks Ronald! Very much appreciate that. I guess I would suggest that even if the horizon was actually tilted, consider changing that in your crop so that it seems (may not be reality) more natural to your viewers
