Dark-eyed Junco

This is a bit of a stretch since it's a very major crop, but the original seemed sharp enough that I could get away with it for web presentation. I wanted to show how the glancing light brought out the red iris in the eye, so I decided to try cropping to a portrait.

1Div, 500mm f4 ISL + 1.4TC, Black Widow head on blind windowsill, f9, 1/250, Av mode with -1 stop compensation, iso 1000. Processed in CS6 and cropped to 2MP. Taken January 3rd at 3:44 pm.

Your comments and criticisms are much appreciated.

Thanks for looking,

Nice portrait of this handsome bird. The eye and bill she very nicely here. Our backyard would be very boring without these birds right now...they're often overlooked, but I like them! Sharon

Cool extreme look at the Juncos eye Dennis..
Not only is the red iris seen nicely, but you have a landscape view as well
