I caught this Mallard hen at just the right moment. I know it is centered, but not sure how else to present one like this. Taken along the Mississippi River in Wisconsin.

Comments and critiques welcome.

Great angle on this hen! Sharp detail, true colours, and nice BG with a hint of the waves.
One of the few (IMHO) times when centering is perfect!

Jerry: A very cool pose indeed. Great timing. I like this very much. The image as posted feels a bit flat. I took the image and added just a bit of mid tone contrast. I think it helps it a lot. Without your permission, I won't post it. If you'd like me to post my suggestion, let me know and I will. Regards, Keith

Cool pose, Jerry. I think centered is the way to go with an image like this. A very neat image.

Keith,

After I posted the image, I too thought it was a little flat. By all means, post your effort. I'd love to see it.

Jerry,
You certainly captured the moment here, I agree that the OP looks a little flat, both re-posts improve this but I think I prefer Keith's

Awesome landing shot of this angel Jerry  Excellent details where it counts. Both yours and Keith's re-posts are better.

Perfect timing. I love the symmetry in this, and it couldn't be more aptly named.

wonderfully symmetrical shot Jerry. As you say, not many other ways to present this.
Detail looks fine but I wonder if it is possible to make the colours on the chest plumage pop a bit more.

Great capture Jerry. A very difficult shot to capture and I couldn't visualize this in other than a centered composition. I do like the treatment Keith suggested and I think your re-post is excellent.

Way to cool Jerry, excellent shot and nice timing to get this. Photography rules are certainly flexible and this one works as a center shot. The larger image was a pleasure to view, well done.

The centered placement is totally appropriate. I like your repost and Keith's workover better than the original, with a slight edge on Keith's, which has stronger contrast and brightness. :toast:

Amazing image Jerry, fantastic wing position and placement. I might take a touch off the top here. My preference is for your repost which has slightly lower contrast than Keiths. Great job and image :toast: :toast:
