Pastel Sunset

Shot on Pensacola Beach, FL. The curve of the little peninsula attracted me to this scene and the sunset was frosting on the cake.

Please view the LARGE version for better detail.

Man, you really get some sweet light. I love the pastel colors, the silky texture of the water, and that little peninsula is so cool. It looks sorta like a giant opossum tail that is totally sharp and in perfect harmony with the images overall softness. Really like this one, Bill.

I was just looking at your previous post and now this one. I'm thinking you may well be the Prince of Pastel Light. Beautiful soft, subtle colors and glowing light. I'll bet the print would spread serenity anywhere it went. Excellent job.

Gorgeous wide angle view of this scene, Bill. The soft light and colors are very appealing. I especially like the land jetty transferring our eye gaze toward the trees centered on the distant land mass. Very nice......

Another lovely, long seashore shot. Those distant trees are a great inclusion and perfectly placed. This speaks wonderfully to the gentle quiet of the bayside.

Wow, Bill. I guessed that this was your shot before even looking at the name! The composition is classic, and the colors are dynamite! The clarity in the distant trees, as well as the foreground grasses, is amazing.
But I know an image like this does NOT come directly out of the camera. There is a lot of very skilled crafting evident here, on your part.
I would drive all the way down from Nashville if I knew this scene were waiting for me.

The curve into the scene and those distant trees add nice interest to that soft color. Very nice.

Bill, you convey the tranquility of this scene impressively to me. I also appreciate your careful treatment of colors a lot.
