I found this spider busily making a web from a bush in one of my flower beds. When I tried to take his picture, he quickly scurried in under some leaves on the bush. But by gently pushing back some leaves, I was able to find his hiding place and get several pictures. Then I left him to complete his work. Love the intricate designs on his back!

Canon 60D. 180mm macro lens. F/14 for 1/15 sec. ISO 500. Tripod mounted, natural lighting.

I love the designs on his back, too. First thing I noticed...nice colors and BG :wavey: The comp turned out to be just right even though he tried to hide.

Great find and capture, Carolyn. The orange spider is perfectly set against the contrasting greenery, and the markings on the spider's torso are fabulous.

Carolyn, this is one of the best spider designs ive seen, and an image where the main subject is the design. Beautifully crafted image ..well done

What a special little spider. I sure like the colors, the amazing pattern in the abdomen, and the dof all set so nicely against the green leaves.

Beautiful image, Carolyn! I like the color, detail, design on his back, and the way he's hanging on to the leaf with the ends of his legs.

I like the vertical comp and colors, great details Carolyn.
Especially like the head/eyes seen so well, and the abdominal patterns hold good interest.
Well done! :toast:
