Chesterman Sparkles + Repost

Missing sunrise by a couple of minutes I arrived at Chesterman Beach [Long Beach area] to find a rare occurrence. I've never seen frost on the rocks at the ocean ever before. Temp was -4 Celsius and damp which is unusual for here. Raced to the beach to catch the last of the morning light.I liked how the low light played across the sand with the tide out.

Very nice glow on the rocks. Perhaps a little too much yellow in the water and sky?

The rocks and clouds make this picture. Beautiful detail. The yellow in the sand seems a little strong, almost unnatural to my liking but the overall image is striking. Nice job Bill.

Bill, This is very nice! I like the light and the wonderful detail and texture in the rock. The yellow does seem a bit strong for my taste too, but still a beautiful image.

One more curious about the yellows? But, love the palpable textures, and the comp.

Thanks guys I didn't notice the yellows. My tinted glasses fool me sometimes. Let me know if repost is better.

Repost looks much better to me, Bill. I'm a bit late to reviewing this image. The composition works nicely with the distant land mass jetting out between the FG landmass view and the sky line horizon in the BG.

The textures in the rocks look great and there's a great sense of flow in the clouds. I also like how everything seems to come together near the distant ridge. The yellows in the repost are much improved.

I like the re-post without the strong yellow cast but the best part for me is the light and texture on the rocks.

They sky is outstanding and the foreground even better. I like the intersection of foreground to the a thin stretch of rocks in background. Terrific capture and a large print of this required. :wavey:

Nice comp that draws you in.
I think of a bit more BG would balance the large FG a bit better..

I like the glow of the rocks, the gold in the middle, and the clouds wisping overhead. Very peaceful, yet cold morning. Very nice.

My thoughts echo the above. The foreground is striking, and I prefer the color in the repost.
