Visited La Jolla cliffs over the holidays for the first time to shoot these beautiful Pacific Brown Pelicans. It was an interesting study in color texture and shape - I had a blast. This is a pre-sunrise shot.

Beautiful, Randy. Great preening pose and eye contact and prime plumage. Excellent exposure and detail.

Love that feather detail. The image is very sharp. The background looks a bit unnatural to me. Perhaps it is over saturated a bit. Great capture.

I love the detail in the feathers! I also like the red, yellow, and black colors adding a little pop. Well captured.

Amazing color pattern to this Pelican. I like the head turn pose with open beak, way to go.

Good color and interesting image. I've been thinking of a similar visit - only a 6 hour drive away.

Fantastic looking bird and the detail Wow! I do find the water drags my eye a bit- almost competing with the georgeous bird colours. But thats just me.
Cheers
