Two for Takeoff

Another one from my visit to Bosque a year ago. While I normally don't care for birds layered on top of one another, I think there's enough separation here to make it work. I'd be interested in your opinions.

1Div, 500mm f4 ISL + 1.4TC, Black Widow on Gitzo legs (I think), f7.1, 1/2500, iso640, manual exposure. Straightened in ACR and processed in CS6. Cropped to 11.8MP. Taken at 7:15 am on January 20th, 2013.

Your comments and criticisms are always appreciated.

Thanks for looking,

Exceptional feather detail on the back crane, along with that wonderful Bosque light makes for a pleasing comp. The front crane certainly does not detract from the image, in my opinion. :toast:

It works for me as posted. The colors scream Bosque del Apache to anyone who has ben there.

The image shows the rich details of the birds, Dennis. Bosque has been added to my trip list.

Dennis, in this one I like the DOF, BG and feather detail and action. Nice image. Makes me want to go there sometime. Will have to put it on the calendar.

Looks OK to me Dennis The positioning could have been awkward but seems to have come out OK.

Very nice Dennis!
Since the second bird's so tight, you could always title it 'My Wingman'

I never tire of the crane images!
I'd suggest a tad more room behind, but nice poses, true colours, and fine detail.
Nice work!

Very nice Dennis, I don't mind the overlapping positions. On my screen it looks just a touch bright. :toast:
