Rocks and Reflections
by Wayne Jones
Maybe it's cabin fever, or my old-age short attention span, but I just got tired of looking at my monochromatic winter images, so I needed a change. I decided to revisit some colorful shots from last October that I never posted.
Some people call shots like this "abstract" even though the subject is perfectly clear. When I showed them to people at home, most liked the ones that included more scenery than just the water surface with tree reflections. I'd like to show you two or three reflection shots this week to see if you agree. This has some shoreline rocks to help anchor the the image, so you immediately know it's upside-down reflected trees. In this case, the reflected skyline makes this even less abstract.
Please see the larger image.

This is a crop from a long multiple-frame panorama
I'll post another one without the rocks in a day or two for comparison.

17 commentsThe anchor points of rocks and the reflections say hope and reflection. This would be perfect to sell to a hospital.
This one is just a wonderful riot of color, lines, and impressions of trees, yet grounded in reality by those rocks. And, I find myself looking into the reflection to see the high hills above the other side of the lake. A lot for the eye to explore and enjoy in this one, Wayne. Talk about one begging to be printed huge and hung to be relished slowly!
