Big Bang

The frequent winter storms we have had on the NH coast have made me a little obsessive about capturing images of the Nubble Light nearby in ME. This image has more typical day time lighting compared to my previous psot, but the waves were pretty near perfect for dynamic shots. After about 1.5 hours of watching, waiting, and firing away - I finally left with an image that I hope lets you feel the fury of the departing storm.

5D II, 24-105L, polarizing filter, ISO 50, 1/10 sec.

Good handling of the DR and I like the crispness of the wave action. Lots of energy here, Harry. Nice job.

I love stormy ocean scenes and you captured this nicely. The lighthouse in the bg gives it scale and thus appreciation for the size of the surf. Beautifully processed.

Love the energy in the water here Harry and nicely processed to bring out a cold mood in the image. Very nicely done.

Nice job capturing the waves. Enjoying your comp with framing of the rock and snow is a very nice addition the image!

Powerful and a sweet capture of the crashing waves. Love your choice of comp also, wouldn't change a thing.

The Nubble is one of my favorite lighthouses. I've really enjoyed both this and your prior photo of the Nubble. Both are really nice. :toast:

What a spectacular place, I will certainly try to go there next time I go up north, but above all what a stunning and dramatic photo, the lighthouse looks majestic

Killer image, Harry. The storm wave action is both dramatic and perfectly complementary to the lighthouse subject. :toast:

This image has a lot of power. You captured the feeling of a winter storm on the cost very well. Great image.

Drama drama dram! This image is really cool as it shows the stoic and stable lighthouse on the rock with the chaotic water below and of course the waves splashing leave room for the lighthouse to show through. A really creative image of an overshot subject.

To me the wave puts this image over the top, not just another lighthouse pic, well done, Harry :toast:
