Crown of Anthers

An indoor shot of an anemone from a couple of years ago. I added some soft focus as the textures of the centre and petals were a touch harsh.

Canon 400D, 100mm Macro lens, 0.3 secs @ f9, ISO 200, tripod.

Wonderful pov. Softening the texture makes it look like a painting. It's simply lovely.

Ian, I've taken a mini break from posting and commenting on floral images, but I had to make an exception for this one. This is truly outstanding. Love the light, detail, tones, comp, etc. :toast:

The form with these striking colors and sharp detail is stunning! Fantastic flora shot! Like I am looking at the under-belly of a nuclear explosion… cool.

Wow Ian, I have to agree with Ken here. The center of the flower is absolutely pulsing with energy. Terrific up close view. Outstanding !!!!!!!

The texture in the center is my favorite part of this, Ian. The details provide lots of interest and the comp. is perfect. I don't think I would have recognized this as "softened" if you hadn't of said so.
