Acadia NP, ME

I had planned to hike up Beech Mountain for the sunset, but decided against it because it was heavily overcast and I saw it as a waste of time. Instead I decided to head over to Seawall and hopefully shoot some nice wave action.

That was not working out real well either when I noticed this red glow behind me lighting up the scene. I turned around and there was probably the most intense sunset colored sky I have ever witnessed. Kicking myself for not sticking to my original plan I had to make the best of what I was dealt.

I am not sure if this has any interest or not, so I would appreciate your thoughts on this. Thanks for taking a peek and leaving a comment or suggestion.

I Think this is quite nice with the wave spray and the shoreline leading into the frame. I really like the the subtle tones and especially the delicate sky color. Well done Ed. Chet

Nice wave action. The rest of the scene is so peaceful, those waves create an interesting tension that keeps me totally engaged in this image.

Nice scene Ed with great wave action in the fore ground. I wonder about darkening the sky a bit to make the spray stand out better but that might be difficult. Just a thought but very nice as is.

I like the tone of the image, the nice waves you captured and especially the color in the sky. I think this spot has a great potential for a vertical comp with rocks leading to the colorful sky as well.

You sure caught some fine wave action, Ed, and the gentle colors in both the sky and the water make for a very pleasant scene. I'd call this a keeper although I'm torn about the "sunburst" on the right edge. I also agree with Bill's thought about getting some more contrast between the splashes (especially the center one) and the sky.

Ditto on the contrast in the sky to bring out the splashes a touch more, but I really like the soft pastels and the spot of sunstar on the right. Nicely done.

To me its not always about that radiant sunset... I think you did a great job of capturing the energy of the surf. Nice work

Thanks for for comments and suggestions everyone. They are always appreciated.
Bill, Mark and Morris: I know what you mean; I thought the same thing myself and just could not get it to look right. I will have to give it a try again.
