Wood duck in flight

I have been kind of busy and haven't posted in a while and I resolved to try to be more active this year so here is the first. This is the best wood duck in flight shot that I have gotten so far after a lot of trying. Around here (Dallas) they usually stay out of range but this one got close enough and I was lucky enough to catch him. Photo was taken at White Rock lake park.

200-400 w TC 1.4 HH

Very jealous, I can't get a good close one when they are sitting still, much less in flight, I like it!

Looks great Robert, all your trying paid of with a nice result!
I especially like the iridescent colors along the wing edge, and birds side :toast: :toast:

I very seldom see Woodie flight shots. This is really good. My only wish is for a better angle. Wonderful nevertheless. Were you using the new Canon 200-400?

Nice reflection on the wings. Would like the bird angled a bit more toward the camera

Interesting to see a Wood duck in flight as most pictures of them they are on the ground. Just a little more side turn would of been great but nice job in getting this.

Detail looks good, Robert and I love the iridescent wing. Looks like he was a little going away from you, but these guys are awful fast. Nice image.

This is pretty nice. Great colors and exposure. I would remove the little speck under the tail, and move the bird back just a little in the frame. You must be pretty good at fast panning to catch one of these! Sharon
