Lawrence's Goldfinch
by Charlie VanTassel
Every year a few of these birds come down from the hills and visit my feeder. Even though they are fairly cooperative, I keep a blind set up near the feeder and photograph from there. I find that I can be very close as long as I stay in the blind. I leave the blind set up all the time so that they are used to it. I use a doghouse style blind for a lot of photography. It's something that every wildlife photographer should own and is a lot cheaper than buying a bigger lens.

Nice looking Specimen ... The Natural Catchlight is very good too.
My only nit... I am not a fan of the Perched branch being in front of the the bird & cutting his body some behind this branch. as well Poking up over him while perched. In your Dog house set-up maybe try to get him on the Branch tip
then both my nits would be taken care of.
Thanks for sharing
