Female Bufflehead flying past frozen fall below the Croton Dam. Nikon D800, 500mm f4 lens, ISO 500, f5.6, 1/2000. Some spectral highlights toned down. Thanks for looking, comment and critique welcome. Ray

Unique background, it makes this image very special IMHO.
Very good detail, even with the smaller size of the bufflehead Ray.
The bird stands out well in the frame, nice light across the bird & falls too..
Well done!

A well composed shot. I wish the ice were sharper, but probably not possible under the circumstances.

An interesting photo contrasting this duck against those huge icicles. Don't see things like this often. Nice creativity

Very nice! One of the better "birdscapes" I have seen. The frozen waterfall is sweet.

Cool birdscape, Ray. I might be tempted to crop just a bit off the right side and the bottom to get the bird at the upper right 1/3 point.

A very cool shot Ray, my one wish would be to have the ice crystals a bit more in focus but I realize that would be a very tall order here. A unique birdscape, very well done.
