This image was taken last week at the shore of the frozen Lake Neusiedl in the Pannonian Steppes, the eastern part of our country.

For me, this is one of those images that gets hung between a landscape and an abstract. There's very little to lead the eye through the image, but not enough loss of orientation to get the eye wondering. The most interesting part to my eye is the pattern just below the horizon, but I'm not sure if you could have walked out there and filled the frame with it.

I agree with John on this. I really like those patterns in the distance! If you couldn't get an entire photo of just those patterns, I would prefer to crop off the very bottom of this, below the distinct small slabs of ice in the FG, maybe about the bottom 15% of the image. The crack or ridge leading out to the bigger jumble of ice doesn't show up very much in this, but I can imagine that it would be interesting to try to make it show up more. Interesting stuff in here, but I'm really drawn to that pattern out in the distance.

I like the colors in this Peter but like the others my eyes seem to get drawn to the mound in the back round and the textures in the ice. Did you get any pics of that area?
