Lake Isabelle Sunrise

Early morning light from the sunrise casts a red glow on Navajo, Apache, and Shoshoni Peaks above the calm waters of Lake Isabelle deep in the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area near Nederland, CO

The lake is usually much higher than this but I guess there is a water pipe under the lake that needed repair and the lake was partially drained. Strange for a wilderness area to have a pipe under the lake, but nevertheless it was drained on this morning.

Canon 5D Mk. III, 3.2 secs, f/16, 17mm, Singh-Ray 3 Stop Soft Grad. ND filter.

Beautiful photo. I like the composition and light. The curve forming the rocks around the lake is nice.

Nice mountain scene, Ryan. Nice light and color and the reflection adds a lot to the image. I like a pano for this with the fg cropped but nice as is. Chet

Beautiful light and very well composed scene. The more you comment on other images, the more you learn and the more comments you get.

Very nice comp,Ryan. The arc of the lake and layering combined with the early light add up to nice image indeed. I find myself wanting to see more sky here, kinda of a ying and yang thing. But very good as presented. I'll add to Mr. Teller's observation about commenting on other's photos. It sorta makes the whole thing work and is a very valuable tool.

This is a beautiful view complimented by the combination of warm and cool colors in the scene, Ryan. I'll second Richard's and Gary's posts about commenting as it is a great learning tool.

Beautiful color combination of the blues and reds Ryan. Nice sweeping comp and very nice reflection also. Maybe a touch more sky but beautiful as is. Great job.
