Sparrow

I've been really undecided about posting this image. I know that images of House Sparrows are probably not considered very interesting and I think it's probably not as sharp as it should be. But I like the pose, setting, and snowflakes. I think the mood of this image is very appropriate for the weather we've been having here.

This is near my feeders in my backyard.

Canon 60D, 100-400IS lens@400mm, f/7.1, 1/400 sec., exposure bias +0.7 step, ISO 400

Very nice, the soft BG really compliments the browns of the sparrow. I'm sure there are those that will dislike the busy tangles of the branches but hey that's where the sparrows hang out for the most part. You did a great job on the capture and exposure. Well done. :toast:

I love the bird, the tangle and the perch, but what is all that white stuff?

Great pose and relaxed bird even in all that cold, just shows you can make a great looking image with a so called common bird.

Nice details and I think the mood is very appropriate. If it's got feathers...shoot it! Sure, it's not a hawk or eagle, but these little guys provide us with photographic challenges just as well as any other bird! I do wish for just a bit more of a head turn. Sharon

Nice mood, Barb. I might take a touch off the bottom and right to decenter the Sparrow a bit more.
